  China Adoption

China is located in Eastern Asia, between North Korea and Vietnam. China borders the East China Sea, Korea Bay, Yellow Sea, and South China Sea.

As a result of China's 1979 well publicized "one child policy", there are many abandoned children available for adoption in China.

Adopting a Chinese child is very simple.  There will be no birth mother knocking on your door.  In China, it is a crime to abandon a child.  If a birth mother changes her mind and comes back to a welfare home for the child, she will be put in prison.

Research indicates that the majority of the babies adopted from China are in much better health than those coming from other countries.  Birth mothers typically live a simple life on a farm or in the country and have little access to drugs or alcohol.
China is a relatively safe place for Americans to go because the Chinese government imposes severe punishment on those who threaten the safety of foreign tourists.

AVAILABLE CHILDREN

bullet

Healthy children are available for adoption from as young as 3 months to 13 years of age.

bullet

Ninety- five percent of the children available for adoption are girls.  Boys are available for adoption as well.

bullet

Most of the children live in welfare homes; some stay with foster families.  Special needs children are also available.

ADOPTION TIMETABLE

bullet

Referral time for a child is approximately 10 to 12 months after your dossier is submitted to China.

bullet

Travel to China is approximately 6 weeks after referral acceptance.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

bullet

Unlike adopting from some other foreign countries that require two trips, China adoption is competed in one trip.  In addition, only one parent, if married, needs to travel to China to adopt the child.

Stay in China is 12 to 14 days.

Our international coordinator will be making all of your in-country arrangements in China.  You will also be greeted and escorted the entire time you are in China by our international facilitators  who will walk you through the adoption process step by step.
